For The Love of Vintage Champagne

Two weeks ago, I tasted a fantastic Vintage Champagne that I am highly recommending to you.

I could sit around and quaff this wine all day, as it has the most beautiful aromas of buttered popcorn, candied pineapple, smoke, and toast. These are reflected on the palate and supported by racy acidity. I absolutely loved this wine and I am totally prepared to bust my modest budget for it.

TASTING NOTE: With a texture that caresses the palate, this is all about finesse. Finely arranged layers of dried black cherry and currant, quince paste, fleur de sel, vanilla, smoke and toasted coconut find lovely balance with subtle, mouthwatering acidity. The finish is long and focused. Drink now through 2024. Score: 94 (Alison Napjus, winespectator.com, Dec. 15, 2011)
There is a good quantity left in Ottawa, so it's definitely worth picking up. I believe there are a few bottles left at Bank & Walkley, and a few cases available at Rideau & King Edward. I reiterate, I highly recommend it.
