This quiet and chic resto-wine bar is located a bit outside of the downtown Vancouver core on Granville.

The air conditioned wine wall will grab your eye first, followed by the warm and clean decor of the dining room.

Impeccably smooth service, and a diverse menu, including tasting menus, which is very reasonably priced for the quality of regionally selected ingredients and attention to detail.

I throughly enjoyed the dungeness crab salad with a wide variety of hand-picked micro greens, radishes and a peppery emulsion. Funnily enough, the special of the day wa so tempting, our entire party chose it (!) You know its good when people stop talking to eat. A new discovery in my halibut dish : sunchokes! Tender morsels from the artichoke family - all the flavour, none of the spikes!!

Desert was not needed - but definitely enjoyed. Very unique combinations of taste and texture: goat cheesecake with rasberry sorbet, for example.

I wouldn't forget to mention the wine. The wine! Catered to a variety of tastes, knowledge and wallets, West can be proud of their selections - both bottles, half bottles and by the glass, sparkling, white and red, divided by new and old world.

Rating - Go for the wine, stay for the food, leave with the satisfaction of great service

- Rachel
